The Aileron Industry Nine wheelset features, top notch American made parts combined to create an unrivaled race day performance wheelset. US manufactured Aileron rims, laced up with DT Swiss Competition, double butted spokes, to I9 US manufactured precision hubs.
The Aileron rim, a disc specific elliptical profile designed with aerodynamics and weight as key factors. Specifically tuned to be aerodynamically paired with 23-28c road tires, though a 20mm inner width compliments even the most voluminous gravel and ‘cross tires.
Tubeless ready using 24mm Velotape. Tight tolerances require the use of a low profile rim tape like Velotape (installed) to avoid tire installation issues. Veloplugs are not recommended on Aileron wheels.
Rear hub available in a 135mm quick release, or 142x12mm thru-axle compatibility and will accept Shimano/SRAM 11, or Campagnolo 11 cassettes. Wheelsets include one axle and cassette body configuration. Conversion pieces are available separately.
Front hub is 9mm quick release, or 15mm thru axle compatibility.
DT Swiss Competition Spokes and alloy spoke nipples are used throughout for performance.
All wheels are proudly handbuilt to exacting specifications by The Wheel Department. And will come taped up with Velotape

Powder coat colors add 20 grams per wheel.
Sapim CX-Ray Bladed Spokes will shave ~90g off the wheelset.
